A clustered tower of Orthoceras fossils in sea-bed matrix. From the Silurian Age - 400 million years old. These are the ancestral cousins of modern day squids and octopus. These Orthocera sculptures are hand-made by chiseling the rock underneath to expose the Orthocera fossil. The fossils are then polished inside the matrix.
