In a love story paralleling the first three quarters of this century, the hero of the novel returns to recount the humorous, passionate, yet commonplace tale of his eccentric grandparents' romance. The grandparents are also (individually and without each other knowing it) the nation's foremost designers of erotic jewelry and trinkets. The fictional Peter Leroy's comic biography and family history takes us from a small Upstate New York town, to the Long Island suburbia of the fifties, to a retirement colony in Florida.
