The Housekeepers: A Novel

The Housekeepers by Alex Hay is a dazzling historical heist novel about revenge, class, power, and the women working behind the scenes of London society.

Mrs. King is no ordinary housekeeper. Raised among con artists and thieves, she has reinvented herself as the capable woman running one of Mayfair’s grandest homes. But when she is suddenly dismissed, she gathers a clever group of women with grievances of their own—a black-market queen, an ambitious actress, a seamstress longing for a better future, and the former housekeeper she replaced.

Their plan is bold: during the season’s most spectacular costume ball, they will strip the mansion of its treasures while London’s elite celebrate upstairs. But Mrs. King is after more than riches—she wants the truth.

A fun, stylish choice for readers who enjoy historical fiction, female-led heists, revenge stories, and clever social commentary.
