The official History of the Canadian Army in the Second World War. The Operations in North-West Europe, 1944-1945. Published by Authority of the Minister of National Defence. This is the third and final volume of the Official History of the Canadian Army in WWII. It describes in detail the Canadian Army's part in the North-West European campaign--from the invasion of France on D-Day, 6 June 1944 , to the final capitulation of the German forces in May 1945. It rounds out the story of the campaign with an account of the repatriation of the Canadian Army and the work of the Canadian Army Occupation Force. It is the product of exhaustive investigation in Canadian, Allied and enemy records. It includes detailed, coloured maps of the Canadian assaults, campaigns, operations and many sketches, photos and images. This volume was presented to the Nepean High School Library by Colonel G. W. L. Nicholson, C. D. on September 1962.
