Photographs from the Imperial War Museum to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of VE Day. Contains many previously unpublished photographs. VE Day is a superb celebration of the Allies' victory over Nazism in 1945.

These photographs capture the ordinary people of wartime Britain--the home defence forces, the women in munitions factories and on the farms, the rubble-strewn cities and their people struggling on the morning after.
